2007/5/1

So close we can almost taste it!

2 more days! 2 more days! After months and months and years and years of late nights, early mornings, papers, tests, papers, projects, and more papers, opposite work schedules, waiting, hoping, praying, some blood, sweat, and tears (and there were quite a few of those – I’ll let you guess who the majority of them were coming from!), stress, stress, and more stress… we have FINALLY come to the place where we feel like we can confidently say that Troy IS going to graduate! And it’s about time! Tomorrow he takes his very LAST final and after Friday he will be able to walk off of Maranatha’s campus no longer as a student, but as an alumnus. And we couldn’t be more excited! It has been a crazy push to the end since Spring Break as Troy finished up his 2 directed studies and independent study, as well as his other classes. Another challenge and opportunity that he was presented with this semester was being asked to preach to the entire student body in chapel – a daunting task in and of itself! There are only 3 seniors chosen by their peers and the Bible faculty every year to have this opportunity, and Troy happened to be one of them this year. And in spite of his initial fears and nerves, the Lord allowed him to preach an excellent sermon on Psalm 51 (click here to listen online!), and after it was over, he said that it really was the highlight of his college experience. What an opportunity!

And with graduation now in front of us, we still do not know where we will be heading in the near future. But we are claiming God’s promise that if we seek His will, He will direct us. So we’d appreciate your prayers as we launch out into this new phase of our lives. We’re excited, nervous, a little scared, but in all honesty I can say that we are resting in the knowledge that “He who has begun a good work” in us WILL perform it! Wherever that will be!
